I am so excited! After a run up that seems like forever, my second novel is finally released today.
I’d like to thank all the early reviewers who left such lovely comments about the book on Goodreads, E-Thriller.com who described it as ‘captivating’ and selected it as one of their ‘Thrillers of the month – April 2014’; and top crime writers Alison Bruce, Phil Rickman and Mari Hannah who enjoyed it enough to endorse it.
But most of all I’d like to thank all the readers of my blog and my first novel, An Unfamiliar Murder, who have been so supportive of my work. Writing can be such a solitary pastime and the lovely messages, emails, tweets and comments I received from readers certainly spurred me on to write more. Without you this second book wouldn’t be here.
Tomorrow afternoon I will be on BBC Radio Northampton at 3.10pm chatting to John Griff about the new release. On Friday evening I am having my launch party at Waterstones, Market Harborough where we will be sharing a ‘Truth Will Out’ themed cake. Special bookmarks have been made for the event too. I look forward to sharing the photos with you all.
Future events include:
12th April – Book signing at Waterstones, Kettering, 10-3pm
19th April – Book signing at Waterstones, Northampton, 11-2pm
28th June – I will be sitting on the Crime Writers panel at Beaconlit Literary Festival
Gratitude goes to all the Legend Press team and my dear family and friends, who continue to help with all the planning behind the scenes. In case you missed it, I’ll leave you with the blurb:
She whisked back to face Eva.
“There’s somebody in the house…”
Eva is horrified when she witnesses an attack on her best friend. She calls an ambulance and forces herself to flee Hampton, fearing for her own safety. DCI Helen Lavery leads the investigation into the murder. With no leads, no further witnesses and no sign of forced entry, the murder enquiry begins.
Slowly, the pieces of the puzzle start to come together. But as Helen inches towards solving the case, her past becomes caught up in her present.
Someone is after them both. Someone who will stop at nothing to get what they want. And as the net starts to close around them, can Helen escape her own demons as well as helping Eva to escape hers?
